Description: Join the County Exec this Thursday, May 2nd for DCRS’s OAI showcase Cultivating Community. Creating Connections. event to kick off Older Americans Month. Set to take place from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at our new East Columbia 50+ Center, this showcase event includes art and fitness classes, interactive workshops, music and entertainment, food demos and more than 30 exhibitors. Additionally, at 3:00 p.m., psychologist, author and Wall Street Journal columnist Susan Pinker, will deliver the event's keynote address: “Why Social Contact Matters as We Age.” Pinker will discuss how face-to-face contact is crucial for older adults.
