Part One: Identifying early signs of neglect

Speaker: Melisha Harris, Adult Protective Services Director, The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS)
An administrator from the Social Security Administration (SSA) and from Baltimore County will co-present the hidden signs of older adult neglect, whether self-inflicted or by others.
Part Two: What happens after you report financial fraud?

Speaker: Tracy D. Rezvani, Administrator, Howard County Office of Consumer Protection
The States Attorney’s Office, the Howard County Police Department and the Office of Consumer Protection will follow the life of a financial fraud or scam from intake and initial investigation to referral for further investigation and charges, and from charges to prosecution.
Part Three: Protecting yourself from financial exploitation

Speaker: André Lingham, Founder, Center for Elder Justice and Education
Join us for an interactive presentation on financial exploitation with examples of cases from Howard County residents, followed by a 20–30-minute Q&A.
