Howard County Walktober 2026 is here!


Throughout October, Howard County is celebrating Walktober 2026 — a month dedicated to walking, movement, and active living!


The Howard County Local Health Improvement Coalition’s (HCLHIC) Healthy Lifestyle Workgroup invites community organizations, businesses, agencies, and partners to join the celebration by hosting at least one walking or movement event during Walktober.



How to Get Involved



  • Host a Walktober event. Complete the HoCo Walktober 2026 Interest Form.

  • Spread the word. Add the Howard County Walktober 2026 logo to your promotional materials.

  • Request Walktober flyers to share with your communities, offices, and networks.

  • Share your event. Email promotional materials to lhic@howardcountymd.gov .
